Summer School)
RLSS UK National Lifesaving Academy awards’ aim is to teach people how to stay safe around water and how to safely assist others who may have gotten into difficulty in both aquatic and non-aquatic situations.
The awards are structured to teach foundational skills and then progressively build up the candidate’s skills. Our club members continuously work towards these awards at their own pace but over the summer holidays we are offering new members the opportunity to undertake these valuable courses over the 6 week school summer holidays.
The Bronze Lifesaving Certificate is designed to teach candidates the basics of staying safe in or around water. It provides the candidate with basic water safety knowledge, basic aquatic lifesaving skills, basic CPR, and basic First Aid.
RLSS Water Rescue Equipment Training (WRET) is a two-hour course, providing candidates with the skills and confidence in rescue equipment use, as well as developing knowledge and ability to safely improvise, where no rescue equipment is available.
