AWARDS & DofE
Royal Life Saving Society Awards
Our club members work towards the RLSS Rookie Lifeguard and Survive and Save Medallion awards.
Assessments are carried out continuously throughout the year by our head coach. We currently have members working towards the Rookie Lifeguard, Bronze, Silver and Gold Medallion awards.
For adults the club provides the vocational qualifications, First Aid at Work and Open Water Lifeguard qualifications, and through collaboration with other clubs, National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
Duke of Edinburgh Award
As a Royal Life Saving Society UK affiliated club, we are well-positioned to support participants with their achievement of the Physical, Skills and Volunteering sections of their Duke of Edinburgh Award.
The physical training that members undertake during our weekly sessions counts toward the physical section, and the water safety, resuscitation and rescue skills that members learn, counts towards the skills section of the DofE award.
There are also volunteering opportunities for club members as PBLSC regularly provides vital life saving support at open water events such as rowing regattas and open water swimming and triathlon competitions.
